Pokemon HeatGold & SoulSilver Review

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 1:39 PM 1 comments

Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver are remakes of the classic pokemon game for the gameboy colour. Even tho is a remake, the game doesn't stray to far away from diamond and pearl. This game does have the same story of the classic gold and silver games, but a few minor changes.

This game looks roughly the same as Diamond and Pearl, but it does look nice to see the classic 8 bit game in 3D. There is lots of depth in the building, but nothing really new. But they've also included more audio, even tho at times it seems to be a bit awkward. The Pokemon still make those weird buzzing sounds, and make the pokemon all sound alike.

The gameplay still remains the same, the standard RPG game style that we all love. Things haven't changed that much, but they did add a few new gameplay additions. They have now brought back events that go in hand with the time, and provide more off track little missions. Also just like gold and silver there are two regions, allowing you to get 16 badges. But the biggest addition was the pokewalker, the pokewalker allows you to steer away from the DS and allows you to find and catch random pokemon. This cool and all but doesn't really affect the gameplay that much.

Overall this is a very good game, it sticks to the roots of the original Gold and Silver games. Even tho this is a remake its not some sloppy port, there are a good amount of tweaks to make this game feel new. This is a must buy for all pokemon fans, even those who used to play and haven't played the new Diamond and Pearl games. I rate this game 8.5/10.

Playstation Move Motion Controller

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 10:35 AM 0 comments

Earlier today Sony unveiled  there new motion controller, The Playstation Move. At the GDC 2010 conference, Sony gave out all the details for the new controller. This new controller is actually broken into two parts, very similar to the Wii.

This highly anticipated motion control system that translates your real world movements into video game moves. The controller with the blue ball is the main controller; with the home button, analog stick and 3 buttons. The second sub part is devoted to be a controller, with a D pad, analog stick on the back, and a few face buttons. The blue ball is actually a camera that captures your real life movements.

The Playstation Move will be released near the end of 2010, for a price of less than $100. There are 3 ways you buy the Move, you can buy it individually, or buy it as a bundle with another game and finally buy it with a new console. Sony also stated that some older games will be redone to for the Playstation Move, such games as Little Big Planet, and also new games like Socom 4.

This is really big News but I can't but help wonder that this is very similar to the Wii? To me this a more expensive Wiimote and nunchuck. There is no doubt this will be a hit, but can it compete with the Wii, since it's another $100 to buy it. While you can get the Wii for $200, you will have to pay around $400 for the PS3 and the Move. Almost twice as much, well Sony better make this the best damn invention ever otherwise I'm sticking with the Wii.

A change for Computer Gaming

OnLive, the on-demand, instant-play videogame service first revealed at last year's GDC, will launch on June 17, 2010. This will be available in 48 countries and will be accessible for both the PC and Mac. The service will cost $14.50 per month, and this will give you access to a huge library with such games as Mass Effect 2, Borderlands and much much more. The library will also be updated regularly and the first 25 000 users may also receive the first 3 months free of charge. This a huge step for online gaming, and there are also planning to bring this to multimedia TV's! I think this is fricking awesome, this is a huge step for gaming; having instant connection to all the games for a low price.  Games on Demand is already out there, but this a different take on this service and will probably be a great success.

Yakuza 3 Review

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 1:15 PM 0 comments

After being released in Japan a while back, Yakuza 3 finally hits American stores. Yakuza 3 is the Japanese version of Grand Theft Auto, and is a lot of fun to play. This bad ass fighter is a Japanese Mafia game, Kazuma has left the Mafia to care for his own orphanage. Later his old associate's become really irritated and threaten the kids, Kazuma has no choice but to kick some ass. The game really provides a solid story, and has lots of very interesting moments, making it a lasting appeal. Since this game was released a while back, the graphics are a bit outdated. There is nothing really special about the game, it does provide us with some nice cut scenes, but some area's of the game are really plain. The game does focus a lot on fighting, but the didn't do a lot of work on the environments. But this open world adventure does provide us with solid gameplay. They offer a lot of depth with the items and move combination's. This game does feel like a button smasher at times but is really fun to play, and I really enjoyed beating down some Japanese Mafia. The controls are pretty easy to understand and do provide enough depth to do really amazing combo's. Overall Yakuza 3 is a great game but would have been better if it were released earlier. I rate this game 8/10.

God of War 3 Review

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 4:26 PM 0 comments

We have been all waiting for the release of God of War 3, and trust me it's worth the wait. God of War 3 lives up to all our expectations, but it does have a few minor issues. The new addition to franchise is more epic, brutal and bloody, and right off the bat you notice the best visuals you will see in any game. This game looks sick, the environments are beautiful and looks like something out of Lord of the Rings. There is so much detail, you will have to play the game through many times to notice everything. Fratos is back, and is meaner and badder than ever before. I believe Fratos is one of the best looking character ever, never has a character looked more appealing. But some of the other characters don't fit, and look awkward. The story this time around is fun and amazing but the plot is not well done. There isn't much there to connect all the pieces, it is really hard to get the full story. But there is a lot great boss battles, the battles are more epic and there is plenty of action right off the bat right till the end. The gameplay hasn't really much changed since God of War 2. But that is what has made God of War great, the mechanics are probably the best for any action adventure game. But there are a few minor tweaks, now you can switch your weapons during the battle and while you are preforming a combo to provide more devastating moves. Also there are more weapons, and this time they are useful, but the four main weapons are very similar, they are just variants of the blade before. Overall this is a fantastic game, this is definitely a contender for game of the year. The story is really the only problem I had, but it doesn't take a whole lot away from the game. I rate this game, a 9/10.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 Tips

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 1:46 PM 0 comments

Most of us enjoy Call of Duty, because it's hard for most of us playing as a team. But seriously who doesn't enjoy knifing their own team. But don't let team play scare you from playing Bad Company 2, we have some tips that can help you improve your game. First of all when you enter a game you will be asked to join a squad, or go by yourself, I suggest to join a squad otherwise you will get raped. So stop trying to be the hero! One of the benefits of being on a squad is pin pointing where you will respawn. You can spawn on you other team mate and see how they are holding up, this can be used to help your team push through. Also you can use this to plan sneak attacks, usually snipers would get pwned, but respawning near the back and have your other members spawning on you can give you the upper hand while sniping. Another thing to remember is to have a variety of classes on your squad, this is key to winning. Having a team full of snipers isn`t that great, sure its fun for the first 20 seconds but wait until you get raped. This is also great to gaining experience, healing other people while you are the medic will get the same experience as killing someone. Just remember to stay true to your class, and you can also gain more experience playing as a team. Completing objectives and helping each other out is the best way to gain experience. Also take advantage of destrucable environments, if you have more fire power keep your distance and blow them away. Finally communicate with your team, do this with voice chat and set up targets for your team. You can warn them and help them take down huge vehicles. Hopefully this helps you to play as a team, and maybe not suck, but the most important part is DON`T BE A HERO!
