Pokemon HeatGold & SoulSilver Review

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 1:39 PM 1 comments

Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver are remakes of the classic pokemon game for the gameboy colour. Even tho is a remake, the game doesn't stray to far away from diamond and pearl. This game does have the same story of the classic gold and silver games, but a few minor changes.

This game looks roughly the same as Diamond and Pearl, but it does look nice to see the classic 8 bit game in 3D. There is lots of depth in the building, but nothing really new. But they've also included more audio, even tho at times it seems to be a bit awkward. The Pokemon still make those weird buzzing sounds, and make the pokemon all sound alike.

The gameplay still remains the same, the standard RPG game style that we all love. Things haven't changed that much, but they did add a few new gameplay additions. They have now brought back events that go in hand with the time, and provide more off track little missions. Also just like gold and silver there are two regions, allowing you to get 16 badges. But the biggest addition was the pokewalker, the pokewalker allows you to steer away from the DS and allows you to find and catch random pokemon. This cool and all but doesn't really affect the gameplay that much.

Overall this is a very good game, it sticks to the roots of the original Gold and Silver games. Even tho this is a remake its not some sloppy port, there are a good amount of tweaks to make this game feel new. This is a must buy for all pokemon fans, even those who used to play and haven't played the new Diamond and Pearl games. I rate this game 8.5/10.

Playstation Move Motion Controller

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 10:35 AM 0 comments

Earlier today Sony unveiled  there new motion controller, The Playstation Move. At the GDC 2010 conference, Sony gave out all the details for the new controller. This new controller is actually broken into two parts, very similar to the Wii.

This highly anticipated motion control system that translates your real world movements into video game moves. The controller with the blue ball is the main controller; with the home button, analog stick and 3 buttons. The second sub part is devoted to be a controller, with a D pad, analog stick on the back, and a few face buttons. The blue ball is actually a camera that captures your real life movements.

The Playstation Move will be released near the end of 2010, for a price of less than $100. There are 3 ways you buy the Move, you can buy it individually, or buy it as a bundle with another game and finally buy it with a new console. Sony also stated that some older games will be redone to for the Playstation Move, such games as Little Big Planet, and also new games like Socom 4.

This is really big News but I can't but help wonder that this is very similar to the Wii? To me this a more expensive Wiimote and nunchuck. There is no doubt this will be a hit, but can it compete with the Wii, since it's another $100 to buy it. While you can get the Wii for $200, you will have to pay around $400 for the PS3 and the Move. Almost twice as much, well Sony better make this the best damn invention ever otherwise I'm sticking with the Wii.

A change for Computer Gaming

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 12:17 PM 0 comments

OnLive, the on-demand, instant-play videogame service first revealed at last year's GDC, will launch on June 17, 2010. This will be available in 48 countries and will be accessible for both the PC and Mac. The service will cost $14.50 per month, and this will give you access to a huge library with such games as Mass Effect 2, Borderlands and much much more. The library will also be updated regularly and the first 25 000 users may also receive the first 3 months free of charge. This a huge step for online gaming, and there are also planning to bring this to multimedia TV's! I think this is fricking awesome, this is a huge step for gaming; having instant connection to all the games for a low price.  Games on Demand is already out there, but this a different take on this service and will probably be a great success.

Yakuza 3 Review

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 1:15 PM 0 comments

After being released in Japan a while back, Yakuza 3 finally hits American stores. Yakuza 3 is the Japanese version of Grand Theft Auto, and is a lot of fun to play. This bad ass fighter is a Japanese Mafia game, Kazuma has left the Mafia to care for his own orphanage. Later his old associate's become really irritated and threaten the kids, Kazuma has no choice but to kick some ass. The game really provides a solid story, and has lots of very interesting moments, making it a lasting appeal. Since this game was released a while back, the graphics are a bit outdated. There is nothing really special about the game, it does provide us with some nice cut scenes, but some area's of the game are really plain. The game does focus a lot on fighting, but the didn't do a lot of work on the environments. But this open world adventure does provide us with solid gameplay. They offer a lot of depth with the items and move combination's. This game does feel like a button smasher at times but is really fun to play, and I really enjoyed beating down some Japanese Mafia. The controls are pretty easy to understand and do provide enough depth to do really amazing combo's. Overall Yakuza 3 is a great game but would have been better if it were released earlier. I rate this game 8/10.

God of War 3 Review

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 4:26 PM 0 comments

We have been all waiting for the release of God of War 3, and trust me it's worth the wait. God of War 3 lives up to all our expectations, but it does have a few minor issues. The new addition to franchise is more epic, brutal and bloody, and right off the bat you notice the best visuals you will see in any game. This game looks sick, the environments are beautiful and looks like something out of Lord of the Rings. There is so much detail, you will have to play the game through many times to notice everything. Fratos is back, and is meaner and badder than ever before. I believe Fratos is one of the best looking character ever, never has a character looked more appealing. But some of the other characters don't fit, and look awkward. The story this time around is fun and amazing but the plot is not well done. There isn't much there to connect all the pieces, it is really hard to get the full story. But there is a lot great boss battles, the battles are more epic and there is plenty of action right off the bat right till the end. The gameplay hasn't really much changed since God of War 2. But that is what has made God of War great, the mechanics are probably the best for any action adventure game. But there are a few minor tweaks, now you can switch your weapons during the battle and while you are preforming a combo to provide more devastating moves. Also there are more weapons, and this time they are useful, but the four main weapons are very similar, they are just variants of the blade before. Overall this is a fantastic game, this is definitely a contender for game of the year. The story is really the only problem I had, but it doesn't take a whole lot away from the game. I rate this game, a 9/10.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 Tips

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 1:46 PM 0 comments

Most of us enjoy Call of Duty, because it's hard for most of us playing as a team. But seriously who doesn't enjoy knifing their own team. But don't let team play scare you from playing Bad Company 2, we have some tips that can help you improve your game. First of all when you enter a game you will be asked to join a squad, or go by yourself, I suggest to join a squad otherwise you will get raped. So stop trying to be the hero! One of the benefits of being on a squad is pin pointing where you will respawn. You can spawn on you other team mate and see how they are holding up, this can be used to help your team push through. Also you can use this to plan sneak attacks, usually snipers would get pwned, but respawning near the back and have your other members spawning on you can give you the upper hand while sniping. Another thing to remember is to have a variety of classes on your squad, this is key to winning. Having a team full of snipers isn`t that great, sure its fun for the first 20 seconds but wait until you get raped. This is also great to gaining experience, healing other people while you are the medic will get the same experience as killing someone. Just remember to stay true to your class, and you can also gain more experience playing as a team. Completing objectives and helping each other out is the best way to gain experience. Also take advantage of destrucable environments, if you have more fire power keep your distance and blow them away. Finally communicate with your team, do this with voice chat and set up targets for your team. You can warn them and help them take down huge vehicles. Hopefully this helps you to play as a team, and maybe not suck, but the most important part is DON`T BE A HERO!

The Gay and Religious all coming to Xbox

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 1:00 PM 1 comments

Microsoft is making a few changes to the "Don't ask, Don't tell" policy. This allows  users to include mention and information of their sexual orientation, religion, nationality, and race in their gamertags and user profiles. Well this is nice and dandy, but I already got suspended for this.  Before this update, many of us would start fights and conflicts discriminating others, so I guess it's okay to do it now? Well the rules might have changed you can only use politically correct terms, "lesbian," "gay," "bi," "transgender," or "straight". Any thing else like "fag" is still inappropriate. Maybe we might see more people like "gaygamer103", people may not be afraid to express themselves anymore. But you may still get banned if you bio or gamertag is still offensive to others. Well this is a pretty nice update, maybe we can take advantage of it for the time being and make gamertags like "ikillgays213", naw I'm just kidding. Finally it's nice to see Microsoft loosening up a little bit, and maybe they can make things cheaper too.

Portal 2 Update

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 12:47 PM 0 comments

Since Valve has confirmed the release of Portal 2, Valve has now given us some more information. The game is now set to release on the Xbox 360, but so far no information on the other consoles so far. Finally Valve has confirmed that there will be co-op in the new game, and more new game modes. Well this is a start, and hopefully we get more information soon.

More Video Games For Womens?

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 11:15 AM 0 comments

Would you believe that half the U.S. gamers over the age of 13 are female. More and more video game industries are now targeting the female gamer market ages 13-34. They are incorporating more style and fashion into their games. Atari's is working on a new game "Project Runaway", a fashion game for women of all ages to take the world of design into there own hands. Also Nintendo released "style sawy" a fashion boutique game for the DS, which is sponsored by Beyonce. The increase in female gaming is do the interactive interface of the Wii and the DS, I guess girls are too lazy to learn how to play games like COD. Well I hope they don't starting playing online it would be awkward talking trash to a 13 year old girl.

There was no word on what platforms it will be on or any other information. After playing the first game, I am pretty stoked about this game. As we more information is released I'll let you guys know.

MLB 10 The Show Review

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 4:28 PM 0 comments

MLB the show last year was a really impressive game, and this years game only adds on to its success. This years game is by far the most realistic game in the series, there is plenty of emotion expressed through out the game. With the beautiful visuals, you get great cut scenes of the pitcher throwing his glove if you just blew the game in the dieing moments of the game. The games does provide great presentation, but the commentary could use a lot of work, there is a lot of repetitive phrases that you will hear through out the same game, these guys really sound like robots and not that good kind either. Maybe they will fix this next year. The gameplay is pretty much the same from last years game, but do have some minor additions. The batting mechanics remain almost the same, but they have made it much more easier and simpler depending on the difficulty you have set it to. The pitching has remained the same as well, but this year they incorporated fatigue, and it plays a huge factor at the end of the game, providing a realistic feel. Another great mechanic they've added is how you attempt a pick off. But this years game has a lot of issues with the AI, there are many bugs with how the computer reacts. The runners are to aggressive, the ball is over thrown and many more problems. This year they have brought back the home run derby, finally took them long enough. MLB the show still has franchise mode, Road to the Show, and Rivals and Manager mode.  But for the most part they remain the same. The franchise mode still offers a lot of depth, more customizable rules. and now offers a helpful transaction handbook for newbs who don't know the rules to the game. But more AI problems occur in this game mode, the computer makes many questionable trades and decisions. Also the Road to the show remains the same but this year you have the ability to call the game as the catcher, the mechanics are very similar to the pitching, and very fun to play. Also Sony has added more catching and pitching drills, and these are very beneficial since it offer many more experience points to help your character develop. Overall this game is very similar to last years, but has a lot of content to offer and a few minor tweaks. The mechanics are awesome, making this game very enjoyable. I rate this game 8.5/10.

Socom 4

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 1:23 PM 0 comments

With the release of Bad Company, Modern Warfare, and MAG Zipper Interactive's has confirmed another big shooter for the fall release of 2010. Socom 4 makes it return, but this time on the PS3. This new game will be doing something new that the series has never done before, creating a story mode. Socom games have been heavily multiplayer based, but never had a story before. The new story mode will still incorporate all the multiplayer game styles; squad based, realistic, tactical and obviously third person. Zipper reported to have working very hard on making this a great story. You play as Ops Commander who is in charge of  a 5 person NATO special forces squad. Right away you learn that the other NATO forces have been annihilated, and you and your team have to go sort this mess out. Your 4 other team members: Schweitzer, Wells, Chung, and Forty-five ( the first girl in the series) have a huge task to accomplish, since Zipper stated this game is no "cakewalk". The story unfolds over a 6 day period, which is broken up into two main acts. Also Zipper stated there will be 14 missions, and this will provide about 12 hours of playtime, and this is amazing compared to the other story modes in other big shooters. The story takes place in South East Asia, but no longer are the battles fought on beaches and forests, but you go through many different cities and destructible environments.
Socom 4 will also deliver graphics and presentation wise, they have incorporated cut scenes that blend in and out of gameplay making for a more believable story. Also there have been some new additions to enhance the gameplay. First of all the AI is just as smart as you, they will use suppressors, they will take cover and try to flank you and if not killed in time they may even drop an air-strike on your head! Finally a brand new addition to this game is the new command mode. This will allow you to give your team instructions for both attacking and movement. While holding down a button a menu screen will pop up giving you a variety of options to choose from. Also command mode is based on real time and you can only perform movements based on what you can see. So far there has nothing been mentioned about the multiplayer other than it will be 32 players online. But so far so great, the story mode seems to be a great addition, and if the multiplayer is any thing like Socom 3, I'm sure it will be an amazing game.

What's Next for Call of Duty?

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 12:51 PM 0 comments

As we all know there will be an annual release of a Call of Duty game, but we do not know who will be making them. But now we know that Treyarch will making this years Call of Duty game, which will be set to release at the end of 2010. Also the franchise announced that Sledgehammer will be making the 2011 game, the action adventure game developers. So this means we won't see another Infinityward game until 2012, so until than will we be seeing more world war games? Cause I'm seriously getting tired of those games. But Sledgehammer said it will continue the franchise action based shooter theme. This years game will be about the Vietnam War, and will have the same game engine and presentation as World at War. Finally the franchise wants to bring its game over to Asia, and make Call of Duty go international.

MLB 2K10 Review

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 1:12 PM 0 comments

The previous baseball game's haven't been that great, and is this years game any better? Well in some area's, yes and no. This year's game is better than lasts years game but it isn't what we expected it to be. This years presentation seems to be worse than last years. There are many sloppy graphic slips every now and than; also the batting and pitchers mound presentation is very crappy, and not well done. But with the decrease in graphics the games framerate is much, much better. The game finally runs smoothly and virtually no skips or lag. Also there are plenty of new additions to make the game feel fresh. MLB today incorporates all of today's stats and make the game feel very really. Also the commentary has gotten a nice upgrade, they no longer sound like robots, but talk about past games and real statistics. Along with this, they have introduce Hurry up, this is an option to skip all those boring and annoying cut scenes. Personally this is a major addition. The best addition is the new career mode. This is where you can create your own player and move up through the ranks and become a hall of famer. The idea of this is good, but there are a few problems. Starting off its impossible to hit the ball, and there isn't enough depth to make it feel real.  Finally the gameplay has gotten much better. The AI this time around is much smarter playing with you, but at times will overthrow the ball. 2K has also improved the batting and pitching mechanics, so its not that complicated. Last year at times it was impossible to pitch, seriously this game is rated E, for everyone even 5 year olds. The gameplay may have improved but there are plenty of new bugs, and these bugs appear quite frequently taking a lot away from the game.  Overall this game is pretty good, but could have been much better, for this year I  will stick to MLB the show. I rate this game 7/10.

New use for DSi Camera

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 12:50 PM 0 comments

Already out in Japan, DSi is offering a new way to play. After Nintendo's next quarter they will be releasing 3D hidden picture, made by Good Feet. This down-loadable puzzle game, will use the camera to detect how you tilt the system, and adjusts in real time. With this new feature it will allow you to shift your view to find hidden items in the game, and move objects in a new way. Also this new game has lots of content as well. There are many fairy tale theme's to unlock, and if you find your self stuck you can buy hints with the coins you collect as you play. This is only the beginning for new idea's for games. Not going to lie this seems pretty sick, hopefully they can do something productive with this. Finally this game will be available for 200 DSi points, and will be released soon.

Megaman 10 Review

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 11:50 AM 0 comments

Megaman returns with its 10th installment in the series, but this game feels like all the other games. Megaman 10 right off the bat looks like Megaman 9, this 8-bit game follows the same path as its predecessors. As always we have Dr.Wily but with a different take on the story. There are a bunch of mysterious robot attacks going on, a robotic virus called Roboenza, and this time Dr.Wily is not behind it, what? Other than this the game has remained the same with a few additions. The gameplay hasn't changed at all, it actually feels like your playing the first Megaman game. Even tho we only got a few additions, these new ad-dons are fantastic. Time attacks makes it returns, but this time with more depth and more challenging. To go along with Time attack, there is Challenge mode, its Megaman's version to get trophies and achievements, and is a really great addition. The challenges can be set to any difficulty and are clear cut, easy to understand. Finally the best addition is Proto Man, available in Megaman 9 as a DLC, Proto man is a playbale character right from the get go. But Proto Man has his disadvantages, he is much weaker and has balance issues. Overall this 8 level game is a great return to the series, it is much more challenging and just as good as the classics. But for a new comer, the presentation and the graphics won't be that appealing. For any Megaman fan this is a most buy, but for newcomers it may not be there first choice. I rate this game 8/10.

PS3 RROD?

Posted by Gamer Saggz On 11:05 AM 0 comments

Normally when we talk about system crashes we talk about the Xbox 360 and how the PS3 is better since it doesn't crash. But now me and many other PS3 owners are experiencing this really irritating bug; I cannot connect to the Playstation network, and it won't even let me play games OFFLINE! Playstation said the system is paralyzed, wtf? Also this is not just on the new slim but all different versions of the PS3. This is the biggest piece of shit, why the hell does this happen of all of sudden? You don't have to be connected to the internet to even be affected. Sony has released information, this may be related to the internal clock. That's it? Well they better fix this problem really fast cause this is preventing many us from playing Heavy Rain.
